Intro to Row $60.00 (14 yr old and up) This more in-depth program is designed to take newcomers from dock side to rowing in 2 weeks. We will spend our first session learning about the equipment, trying the motion of rowing on the rowing machines, and covering the safety protocol. Sessions 2 and 3 will be spent in larger training boats, where we will cover the mechanics of a stroke and boat maneuverability. Sessions 4 and 5 will be spent refining the stroke, and working with more power and speed application as participants get more comfortable. Also in those sessions, you will have the opportunity to spend time in smaller boats like a double or a single. Finally in the 6th session, you will be invited to come out for a practice with our members in larger racing shells. This will give you an idea of how well a boat can move when everyone is working together. This will also introduce you to the membership and enable you to meet future rowing partners.
